Watermelon Vine
Pellionia pulchra
Watermelon Vine (Pellionia pulchra) is a beautiful trailing tropical plant known for its soft green leaves marked with silvery striping that resembles a watermelon rind. Its low-growing, spreading habit makes it an excellent ground cover or trailing accent for bioactive vivariums and terrariums.
This plant thrives in warm, humid environments and does especially well in mantis enclosures, jumping spider setups, dart frog vivariums, and other tropical invert habitats. Watermelon Vine stays relatively compact, spreads gently along the substrate or over hardscape, and provides natural cover and visual interest without overpowering smaller enclosures.
