🌿 Strangling Vine (Ficus radicans)

Bring a bold, tropical vibe to your terrarium or indoor plant setup with Strangling Vine, a striking cousin of Creeping Fig. Known for its slightly larger, leathery green leaves and vigorous growth, this vining ficus is a fantastic choice for climbing hardscapes or cascading down walls and backgrounds. Its strong clinging roots make it ideal for bioactive enclosures, where it adds structure, humidity retention, and a vibrant natural look.

🌱 Care Instructions:

Light:
Prefers bright, indirect light. Can tolerate moderate light conditions but may grow more slowly. Avoid prolonged direct sun to prevent leaf burn.

Water:
Keep the substrate evenly moist—do not allow to fully dry out. Water when the top layer begins to dry. Higher humidity encourages fuller, lusher growth.

Temperature & Humidity:
Loves warmth and moisture. Ideal range is 65–85°F. Great for tropical terrariums, dart frog enclosures, or steamy plant rooms.

Soil:
Use a loose, well-draining tropical mix—coco coir, sphagnum moss, and bark chunks all work well.

Growth Habit:
Ficus radicans grows quickly and adheres well to wood, rock, or background materials. Regular trimming helps control shape and spread.
