🪵 Dried Cholla Cactus Wood

Add natural texture and function to your terrarium or vivarium with Dried Cholla Cactus Wood—a lightweight, sustainably sourced wood with a unique, lattice-like structure. Loved for its sculptural look and practical versatility, Cholla is ideal for climbing perches, decorative hardscape, or anchoring epiphytes and mosses. It's also a favorite in bioactive setups, shrimp tanks, and naturalistic displays.

🌱 Uses & Care Instructions:

Terrarium Use:
Perfect for reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates. Use it as a climbing branch, background accent, or moss anchor. Its porous surface allows microfauna and beneficial bacteria to thrive.

Aquarium Use:
Safe for use in freshwater shrimp or nano tanks once properly soaked. It provides shelter, biofilm growth, and adds a natural aesthetic. May slightly tint water at first due to tannins—this is natural and beneficial for many aquatic species.

Plant Use:
Great for mounting air plants, orchids, or moss. The hollow channels retain moisture and support root growth.

Preparation (Aquarium Use):
Boil or soak for 24–48 hours to remove excess tannins and ensure it sinks. Replace as needed—Cholla slowly breaks down over time, enriching the ecosystem.

Lifespan:
In terrariums, Cholla can last for years. In aquariums, it will naturally degrade over several months to a year depending on water conditions.

Pet Safety:
100% natural and safe for reptiles, amphibians, invertebrates, and fish. No chemicals or additives.
